The Brooklyn Project

School prepares kids academically.

We help prepare them for life.

Games, videos and ready-to-use resources for the skills school doesn't schedule: feelings, friendships, decisions, money and life online. For kids from Pre-K to Grade 12, and the adults around them.

What we do

Raise good humans who are prepared for real life, not just kids who can pass tests.

The stuff between the subjects

This part's on us.

  • Big feelings.
  • Group chats.
  • A first paycheck.
  • Saying sorry.
  • Calming down.
  • Standing up for a friend.
  • Asking for help.
  • Being bored. It's fine.
  • Screen time.

Four things school doesn't schedule

Every game, video, article and pack on this site builds one of these.

Emotional wellness

Understanding feelings, calming down, coping, talking things through, empathy and relationships.

Naming feelings · Calming down · Empathy · Relationships

Life readiness

Independence, decision-making, problem-solving, responsibility and the practical stuff, money included.

Decisions · Money · Responsibility · Independence

Digital readiness

Social media, healthy tech habits, online safety and AI literacy, so kids understand the apps and know when to put them down.

Social media · Online safety · AI literacy · Screen habits

Thinking and creativity

Critical thinking, curiosity, creativity, ethical decisions, and the confidence to try again when something doesn't work.

Curiosity · Critical thinking · Good judgment · Confidence

Built by a youth mentor

The Brooklyn Project is run by a practicing youth mentor who spends real hours with real groups of kids and teens.

Why it exists

How we work

  • Speak to kids with respect, never down to them.
  • Fit each stage. What works at 5 doesn't work at 15.
  • Make it ready to use. Busy adults shouldn't need an afternoon of prep.
  • Write plainly, so it works for neurodivergent kids too.

Free, for educators and youth workers
